While doing a survey online, a window within the survey took me to a site about blogs. I ended up ordering a blog CD for $1.95, no mention on that site about real estate investing, the cost of a pack of CDs about real estate investing, etc. I got the blog CD in the mail, then a few days later here comes a package of CDs about real estate investing.
I knew I didn't order them, so I marked on the unopened package "Return to Sender—Did Not Order" and took the package to the local post office and shipped it back the next day. The following month I noticed charges on my credit card of $129.95, $29.95, and the original $1.95 all from the same company Wealth International, aka Real Success Institute.
I didn't know they had another name until today when searching to find their website online. I called them after I received my credit card bill in early October where they had charged me, and was told they hadn't received the CDs back that I'd shipped back to them. I was told I couldn't get credit until I returned the CDs.
I tried to explain that I HAD returned the CDs the next day after I received them but I was made out to be a liar. Then I contacted my credit card company. When I told the customer service rep the problem and that I wanted to dispute the charges, he immediately recognized the company and said they'd had problems with them many times before, and said he'd give me conditional credit until they investigated.
Well, the credit card company investigated and now says I have to pay the charges! I'm so mad about this! This is outright scamming, ripping off customers that order the blog CD, and shouldn't be permitted by state laws! I am a senior citizen and don't appreciate being taken advantage of and I want to fight this to the max!
