W.I.L. D Enterprises Misinformed about job "interview"- SCAM

MPH (Miles Per Hour) Advertising is located in Newington, CT and all over the state I think. Let me tell you about what a sh*t company they are and how they deceive and lie to you about you job interview/shadowing.

I show up to hand in my resume. Their job description says, "Miles per Hour Advertising Inc is a promotional marketing firm working with clients like Disney, Warner Brothers, Crayola, and NASCAR. Recently launching our new Sports Division and introducing Liz Claiborne's Cosmetic line, we have plans to continue our geographic expansion so to increase market penetration and customer clientele.

MPH is looking for ambitious, motivated individuals to help with this expansion. We have Full time and summer positions that need to be filled immediately.
*Entry Level Marketing, Advertising, Sales, Management, Account Coordinators, Public Relations, Customer service, Inventory/Warehouse. Work with pro Sports teams and High national Clients!"

-Looks good for a recent college grad. Thought I would be working WITH these big national clients. So, the receptionist lady brings it to some guy in the back room, and she comes back to tell me that if I come back on Wednesday, I will be job shadowing a lady named *Sue*. I came back that day.

When I got there I sat in this tiny room where I met up with Sue* and Trish*, 2 women I'd be job shadowing. Being young and naive, I went with them IN THEIR CAR to their territory. The whole ride I was getting nervous because I was asking questions about the position, thinking we were going to some office, and they kept giving me strange, vague answers. Finally we get to their "territory" and they pull into a strip mall. I'm still not sure what's going on, but they did say in the car ride that they made a sh*t load of money and got to do advertising and public relations all day...

Then Sue* pulls a duffle bag out of her trunk. I watched closely, and in the duffle bag were boxes of Home Depot flashlights, watches, toys, coloring books, crayons, gold plated pens... All in boxes. Then they proceeded to go into EVERY STORE IN THE STRIP MALL. They went up to every customer and employee and asked if they would like to buy a Home Depot flashlight. Then they went into business parks, into people's offices, into gas stations, restuarants. People were yelling at us "No Soliciting!". I was sooooo embarrassed. Obviously, I wanted to go home immediately, but those two liars wouldn't take me back because they had to spend their whole working day in their territory or else they wouldn't make money.

Then we went to lunch, where I ended up having to pay for most of it because those cheap b*ards wouldn't leave a tip to a great server!

Then, after my show broke, and we walked about 10 miles total around whatever town we were in, in 95 degree weather, the day was over and they would take me back.

BUT, right before they got on a highway, there was this hole in the wall bar Trish* parked in. I thought, "at least I can have a drink after this awful day!"... Not so, they went into this bar and tried selling them these dumb ass flashlights. So, we were in the "field" for about 10 hours (remember I am not getting paid) and we got back to the "office (aka S*T hole)" at about 6. I asked them how much they made... After giving half their payments to the "Owner" of the company, they each made $55... in 10 hours.

But they made it clear that if I brought more people onto the team, I would end up a manager and get a portion of their commission... Pyramid scheme.

I am soooo pissed. I was young and I learned my lesson, but DO NOT give this company a chance... DO NOT!!! They wasted my day and flat out lied and kidnapped me. I want my day back... And my money for the f*ing pizza that I had to pay for.
