I bought a 1997 Ford Escort in 2003 from CNAC/JD Byrider and was faithfully making my weekly payments every month.in 2004 we paid advance payments to March and to our amazement CNAC/JD Byrider put me in collections in October! They never notified me in any way, no phone call and no letter in the mail.
I did not know until I went to JD Byrider in February to see if I could upgrade into another vehicle since I just had my third child. To my amazement Mr. Roberts advised me that he could not find me and that I did not have a balance with CNAC. I asked him to double check and provided him with my driver's license and SSN. He verified and confirmed that I did not have an account balance and still could not locate me in their system. I was frustrated and with a newborn and two other children, I left and did not return.
Then when my husband and I went to try to buy another home I found that CNAC reported me to the credit bureaus as oweing a balance of $1300 plus. I was working on my credit and they just made it worse.
CNAC never gave me the opportunity to make my payments and never notified me properly. They are sneaky and dishonest.
