Trying to collect on check issued in error by my company

On July 13 I checked my bank account balance and it was in the negative. I found out where the debit for the amount of $235.05 was coming from, my company. I called my company and disputed this (it was due to membership fees) They had me down for a pay in full instead of at the $39.99 for 11 months as I had agreed. They stated they would get my money backto me in 4 days. So in 4 days time, my account went positive and I thought that was the end of it.

On the 24th of July, checking my balance, the amount was trying to come out again. Once again I contacted my company because thru my bank it showed as them. The amount was returned on the 25th of July. Imagine my unhappiness when I check my mail on the 27th of July and find a letter from Certegy telling me that I have 30 days to pay them. The only number on the letter was an automated number that wanted all my information short of asking for my bloodtype. I had to hunt around online to get a number for them to contact them.

Meanwhile I contact my company and they ask me how I even got a letter from them when the company was in the wrong and never should have even presented an e-check for the amount. I advised them of what the letter stated and my company informed me NOT to deal with Certegy at all because they do't even know who the company is and they don't use them. It's kind of hard to do that when you have this letter stating the want the money.

I contacted Certegy on the 28th and spoke with a rep there by the name of Keri, I informed her of the dispute. According to her, They presented the check back to my bank on the 24th, not my company. I informed her of the mistake and she informed me that when my company reimbursed me I am to pay them. My comment to her was if you paid the company and they were in error why can't you contact them and get your money back. They aren't allowed to call the company.

Supposedly, once my company presented the check to my bank and it didn't clear, it automatically went to Certegy and they paid the company. Upon speaking to my company, they wanted reps names from Certegy because alot of us clients have been calling in with these issues and they don't deal with Certegy.

Meanwhile, I can't write any checks anywhere in my town, everyone here uses Certegy, and I don't believe I can even use my debit card. I've informed my company of all of this and they are backing me 100% that they were in the wrong, I've faxed over all the paperwork to my company and am waiting for a refund.

My company now tells me that they will refund me for the 235.05 and any overdraft fees caused by it, but that I need to contact Certegy about the fees caused by them because they don't deal with them. I am out 135.00 until yesterday 31st of July when Certegy again attacked my account even though I had already disputed the bill on the 28th of July. So tack on another $25 overdraft onto my account I end up paying.

This company Certegy needs to get their heads straight The last rep I spoke with there yesterday Roxanne kept trying to get me to talk to the collections dept. I advised them I would not be on the phone with them anymore already having spent 20 hours between the 2 companies and that they needed to contact my company. I am furious, I have already disputed this bill and it is their responsibility to provide the documentation and contact the company to back it, but they aren't and meanwhile, they keep overdrafting my account. Know of any good attorneys?
