I attended one of Russ Whitney"s three day 12 hr per day seminars at $199.00. On the third day I was totaly convinced that if I was able to do what they daid that I could really make some money with the stock my grandparents gave to me which was loosing money. The main emphasis of the whole weekend seminar was " It's not how much it costs, it's how much will it make me". I heard that over and over. Complete brainwashing, and the 12 hr seminars are designed to totally wear you down. On the third day when it got down to the nitty gritty YOUR MONEY they assured everyone that they could get a refund at any time on the classes you pre-pay for but not the software or materials. Russ Whitney employes so called expert former or current stock traders that help run the meetings and are eagerly waiting to take your money / or throw you out if you start to ask the wrong questions or start making them feel uncomfortable if you aren't one of the ones like me who are being brain washed. The men immedately group aroud the person upsetting the meeting and physically and verbally threaten the person to leave immedately, but of course they do it with the upmost in practiced technique and tact.
On the last day they take questions from the audience about the packages they ask you to sign up for. A gentleman sitting in the row behind me asked on of the highly trained liars if they could get a refund for the out of state classes that are held in Chicago. LasVegas and Utah. The Liar said and I quote " we could get a complete refund for the class up to the first day. If after attending the first day of the out of state class we were not happy, they all we had to do was call their customer resolution department and they would give us a complete refund, no questions asked."
I was stupid enough to buy into the promise of refunds and complete satisfaction. Enough so that I pruchased a Personal Coach package @ $10,000 and 3 internet and 3 out of state classes all pre-paid for totallying $28,768.77. After I signed up for that and paid out all that money they called me immedately to convince me that in order for me to succeed, I would need to put an additional $3,520.00 for 16 one-on-one scessions over the phone with an elite-coach. I was told without this elite coach I would probably have a hard time learning all of this material on my own, but with his personal one on one scession I was ensured to be successful and make unlimited amounts of money and most important "It's not how much it costs, it's how much it will make you"!!!
Yeah well after giving up over $32,000.00 I never heard from the one on one coach again after 7 classes. He just stopped calling and answering his phone. 7 weeks after he stopped calling me with 9 scessions still remaining and paid for, I suffered a grand-mal seizure and almost died. I had my doctor "s asst. Write me a doctors note for Whitney Education Group informing them that I would not be able to continue with my classes. Long story short I have had an attorney, and consumer fraud law firm tell me that I was a victim of a well-funded and elaborate pyramid scheme and I havfe contacted the Attorney General of Michigan and the FTC. Whiteny Edu. Has done everything they can so far to keep my money. That is how they remain in business.
Three days after requesting a refund for 5 un-used classes, 9 one-on-one sessions I never recieved and $10,000 for the personal coach I never had, they shipped me the coaching book and material. It came while I wasn't home. I did not open the material because It said the sender was Whitney Edu and I could feel that is was a book. I immedately took it to the UPS store to return it. A couple of days later I got a call from the UPS store saying that the package was refused and that I had to come and pick it up. I knew right away that this wasn't right. I had the package forwared to my attorney, still unopened and I got a letter from tyhe UPS store operator that I had not opened the package and that it was forwarded to my attorney.
Whitney Edu then sent my attorney a letter stating that because I recieved the material I was not intitled to a refund of the $10,000 even though I have never opended it, nor have I ever seen or heard from, or meet with a coach. The coach that still owed me 9 sessions over the phone that I absolutely had to have to ensure my secess did finally call me after two maonths and after I requested a refund for the sessions he never gave me. He apologized on my answering machine for not calling me for so long andhoped I was ok!!! The nerve!!!
After formally withdrawing from their classes and requesting a refund, I sought help from a second attorney who belonged to a consumer law firm. I was told after two months woth of investigating Russ Whitney that they could not file my case in Michigan.in order to file a law suit against Russ Whitney you have to do it in Utah and then it is governed under Florida Law. Another words you can't sue unless you find an attorney in your state that is able to also practice in Utah and Florida. That has proved to be impossible so far.
