When My wife and I went to Cost Mesa for their demo I was convinced. I should have listened to my wife. I was doing new home repair and I saw the retail price of almost everything. Little did I know that the real retail price and DirectBuy's retail price were in two different ballparks.
We were doing a lot of remodeling of our home and I knew we were going to save a lot of money but we haven't saved anything.in fact it has been over a year and we haven't even bought anything through DirectBuy because we have found it less expensive elsewhere. That is for the little things that you can find on their web site like faucets and drains or the stuff in the catalog.
How their pricing worked was they would give you a discount off the suggested manufacturers retail price of lets say 60% sound good huh. The price for the faucet my wife picked out at lowes was $48 ea. I then found the faucet online at Direct Buys web site and got their discout of 65% but the suggested retail price was $120 leaving the DirectBuy's sale price at $78 plus shipping and handling.
As for the big stuff we were waiting for the Burbank showroom to open. That hasn't happened yet. The reason we were waiting for the Burbank showroom to open is because we live in Lancaster Ca and Costa Mesa is about 110 miles from our house and Burbank is about 48 miles. We've been waiting 16 months for the showroom that was going to open in 4 to 6 months. We are still waiting.
Now for the financing ripoff end. We financed some of the great deal. I have our bank pay the payment automatically on the same day each month with billpay. I just take the bill we get from the company financing the balance and file it in the cabinet each month. One night last week I couldn't sleep so I looked at all of the bills. Beta Finance the company doing the financing of the balance says we are in arrears with our payments. I checked with our bank and they told me that all of the checks that have been sent to the finance company have been cashed. The checks are sent to Chase Bank to a PO box in Indiana and then supposedly forwarded to beta Finance Co in Crown Point Indiana. So My wife and I are getting it from all sides.
After working for one company for 15 years and losing my job to tobacco advertising downsizing. I feel I have been ripped off enough. I am almost complete with remodeling our home so the reason I joined DirectBuy has passed by. Since the Burbank store didn't open in the timeframe they said it would and I could drive down to Costa mesa everytime I wanted to look at something. I just want to get my money back.
