On March 21 I was contacted by what I had hoped was a potential job offer. The young man that contacted me said that he had found my resume on WorkAustin.com and said that I was a perfect candidate for the position that he currently had open for an entry level manager.
After a few minutes of talking with him, I got more and more suspicious of what was going on. I agreed to set up a time for an interview. The thing that tipped me off was when he told me that they were loacted in the North Cross Mall area. The address that he gave me was almost 20 miles off from the area that was described!
When I realized what could be going on I called 411 (because I couldn't find any information online) for the telephone number, they gave me (512) 374-1349. Totally bogus! It gave me a recorded message that "the phone number that has been dialed is no longer in service."
I then got on usacomplaints.com and found at least 2 different articles stating the same thing. I then cancelled my appointment with the person who had contacted me. I very politely told him in my e-mail that I thought this would be a poor business move. He then came back with more "information" on what was going on. (Everything matched up with what had been posted on usacomplaints.com!) He stated to me "go to www.lqintl.com and click "opportunity", a 10 minute video will load up that will catch you up on the basics. A picture is worth a thousand words, so I don't want to give you the wrong impression."
When I confronted the gentleman that I had been in contact with, I enclosed the website address for the report where I had gotten my information from.

He then responded with "That's pretty funny, you should consider your resources! The person who started that site is a felon, you should do more research. I hope you realize any idiot can post anything about anyone. Try searching names like "Bill Gates" and "Mark Cuban" see if you find any less than positive info on them. Just a thought. Good luck to you though!" He knew that he was caught. Even if this person who started this website was a felon, he has obviously done a good thing.
I'm glad that I found a web site like this. I am definitely putting the word out there. I get tired of seeing people get taken advantage of and I won't be one of them!
