Aims Academy is a Career School in Bartending and Culinary Arts. I worked there as an Admission Rep for almost a year. I was told that I would make 10% of each person I enrolled and based on my enrollment ledger this would have put me earning $3000.00 I not only was lied to I was accused of taking money well into 6 months of my employment. I know who was embezzeling and so did the owner of this school. I also found out that I was not registered as an Admission Rep until July and had been registering students from Jan. 06. Approval is required by Texas Workforce Commission otherwise any students that is enrolled prior to my approval is entitled according to TWC a full refund. I emailed the owner of this company my concerns about how they did business and that the so call VP of her company was ripping her off and using me as an escape goat. After I went to her, she decided to accuse me of blackmailing her. The truth of the matter is if I was a crook, i could have takenn my commissions out myself, but I am not nor was a thief. Many of these students are entitled to their money back, not only was I not approved, but my instructors were not approved either. Believe it or not I emailed TWC about their audit they were planning to conduct warning them about student file tampering and other fraudlents acts that the so-called registrar were doingand planning. I was ignonred in many ways.
In fact the school was awarded a certificate of approval anyway. I know of employees that still work there in the financial department that have pulled money down on students that did not go to school there or money that was pulled within 24 hrs of approval. This is not to be done. I know in the long run I may need a lawyer because I am aware that several thousands of students were enrolled and taught by unlicensed and unapproved staff and are entitled to a full refund from this school. Not to mentioned apoligies for the way they have done business.
