A cross-cut shredder was purchased on 7/30/06 and the cashier asked if we wanted to back up the purchase with "max assurance", meaning I should register the purchase on their website and if anyting happened to the shredder, we could call it in and get a store credit for $45. We agreed and, today, the shredder choked up on us. I contacted the Max Assurance number and was told that his doesn't take effect until JULY 30!! —a year later!!! Thank God it only cost me $6.49 for the "assurance"—this is not the first time Office Max has misled me, but IT WILL BE THE LAST. Beware consumers!!!
