I just received an invitation from Internet Marketing Conference, ie. C. Rex Sanderson at my business today. Sounded interesting except for one thing. One of the nearby cities that the conference was to be held was spelled wrong. That got me thinking. Hmmm... If this is a legit organization wouldn't you think they would at least check the correct spelling of the city they are going to hold a conference in? So i started researching and realized this: no return address, no city or state mentioned as to where the "invite" was coming from, and they only offered the 800 number. I found myself here at this site reading complaint after complaint regarding this very invite and individual. One of the complaints i read said that they had called the hotel in which the conference was to be held to warn them so i thought it was a great idea and i did the same thing. Guess what? The hotel, which is our local "Quality Inn" didn't seem to care. The only thing they cared about was that the Internet Marketing group did this every year and rented a room every year and apparently what people did in their own rooms didn't matter to the manager. He was more concerned with the money he was making off the rental of the room. At any rate, i will NOT be attending the conference, nor will i ever refer or be staying at our town's Quality Inn. I hope someone from my town will read this and take heed to all the warnings. Thanks to all who took the time to give their own warnings regarding this scam. I'll close with this one thought: what goes around comes around... Look out Mr. Sanderson... If that IS your name!!
