Hill Top Records will send you letters after your register your song with the copyright office. They will offer to consider your song... And then record it for around $450. They pose as a legitimate company and claim they will promote your songs to music stores and radio stations. The company is a ripoff, with fictional names and all kinds of misrepresentations.
Be careful, because once you sign a contract with them you cannot get your money back. What you will get in the mail is some kind of bad demo CD. You will never speak with a live person at Hilltop because they hide. They are a cynical operation playing on people's dreams and talents.
Check out the Better Business Bureau's view of them.
