I just want to know if there are other school districts that are run much like this one
My first problem with this school district started when my now 16 year old son was in first grade. He was at recess where he was playing on the jumbo gym that was in the main playground of his school when a board broke, he fell and left a gash in his eyebrow he was brought into the classroom I contacted the school to find out if the equipment was repaired or removed so other kids would not get hurt and was bluntly lied to. I was told that they got rid of the equipment. It was never removed until 2 years later when a little girl got her leg caught on the same place where my son fell from.
My kids were removed from the school the following winter as we moved to Arizona and I figured we were done with that problem and we would move on. NOT SO! I later got a bill from the hospital that said I owed for the stitches that was put in my sons forehead as the school has no insurance. I contacted the school and was told that I was responsible for the bill as it was my son that got the stitches not them. I never fought it and paid the bill.
5 years later we had to move back to Idaho and put my kids back in the school district. My son was then in the 6th grade he was just starting what they call Jr. High School and he was doing what several kids were doing and jumped up and touched the door frame. I was telling him that I didn't like him to do that at home and I don't want to see him do it at school when the janitor grabbed his arm started shaking him yelled at him to never do that again. I told her to Take your hands off his arm I am in the middle of taking care of him and I do not ever want to know that you ever touch another child like this again and walked away. At this point i was ready to grab her but i didnt instead I went to the principal of the school and demanded to know that this was never going to happen again and he stated to me that he was going to take care of it that this was a problem with this janitor. The next day I noticed that my son had a burse on his arm where she grabbed him at this point I decided that I was going to get the police involved. To make a long story short the police was told that the janitor was fired which was not true. She was moved to a different school until I contacted the superintendent and demanded that she was fired which I recently found out she was not she was just moved to another school where she got more charges filed against her
2 years later this same son was out side with his friends when how ever it happened (there are several stories) my son fell and his finger was jammed into a piece of broken sidewalk. His bone in the tip of his finger was cracked and was forced to stay in school the whole day even though he requested to call me and was denied access to a telephone unless it was an emergency (Hello wasn't a broken finger an emergency). When he got home from school he showed me his finger which was swollen 2 times larger than normal and the nail was black. I took him to the doctor when I was told it was broke (of course). He spent the next 2 months in and out of school as he got infections and the tip of his finger was removed from the bottom of the nail.
After he was released to go back to school and we thought everything was fine. The school year was coming to an end my son was playing in the front of the school teasing a girl (who was a friend of ours) when she was playing around and she threw a Gatorade bottle and hit him in the head leaving a gash in his head about 3 inches long. The kids went into the school to get some help when they were told to leave the school as they didn't want any blood on the floor. The bus manager came outside and checked his head gave him a hand full of paper towels and told him to sit down and wait for his sister. They then called over to the High School and had my oldest daughter bring him home where she was instructed to lay down until I returned home from school. As soon as my daughter returned home she called me and told me what happened and I left class rushed home to find the gash to be so deep the bone was showing. I took him in and had stitches put in his head. I contacted the school about this and the blame was put on me. I am still trying to figure this one out.
So far my son has not been hurt since this last incident but I continue to fight the school. I have an older daughter who recently graduated who was forced to receive her diploma from a church in another county 13 miles away.
The way I am treated when i go into the school district I am treated as if i am some kind of freek. I am only trying to make sure that my kids are beaing treated fairly. And i am living in a county that believes that the law is for everybody else and not them. I dont want to have to go back to a church to get my kids deplomas I want them to be given in the district where they did all their school work and in a school not a church. I questioned this and was told I was the only one who felt this way. What difference does that make???
Any way my point is that this school district needs some waking up but I have no way to wake them up. I have 2 more kids in the district and I don't want any other kids to have to deal with this kind of cruelty and I also feel that the government makes laws to separate school from church for a reason and ALL schools no matter where it is weather it be rural Idaho or big city New York they all should abide by the laws and show the kids and families at least a little bit of respect. We do pay their wages. What ever advise i can get i would take it and run with it but at this point I am clueless. Please HELP!!!
