I was an employee but couldn't take it any longer so I quit. They do not care about the customer only their own profits. I was reprimanded for sticking up for customers when they of course was only right. Amerigas fixes prices.
Two people can get gas delivered the same time and pay two very different prices. Often times relatives got gas delivered the same day and if they happened to compare what their bill was the price charged wouldn't match. It makes it hard to explain to customers why they are billed different from their neighbor.
Their was never any justified cause for their fixing either. I have seen when gas went high their was no shortage but we marked up the gas to gouge the public. When asked how can it possibly be legal I was told to shut up that everyone else is doing it. When even though we knew the old are especially taken advantage of.
An old woman called one day crying that she hadn't bought groceries for nearly 3 months because she had no money left after paying her gas bill. She was told what would she rather do keep warm or eat. The only reason her bill was so high is that she was targeted because they knew she had to have heat.
They also refused to let her make monthly payments telling her it would void her contract and she would have to pay even more for her gas. After a big fight with the bosses I quit. I was threatened that should I say anything to anybody to remember that I was in on it and they know nothing!
