Complaint / Review
Startup Essentials, USA Card Services, A-1 Leasing
Ripoff

There are a number of reasons I am canceled and noted this is a ripoff.

1. The SE representative - Oliver Jones (Oli) on the phone indicated all I had to do was interview for the position for a home based business. They would not try to sell me the business, I had to sell them on why they should sponsor me. But then I was told I must buy the lease on the computer to be sponsored.

2. Then Oliver could not and did not indicate the type of computer was being leased but that it was a very high-end computer. What we received is a low end Acer worth at my local computer store around $1000 or so, which is not equal to any $139.99 monthly lease for 48 months. The lease is very much over priced.

3. Oliver also indicated there was no other investment required. All of the cost would be in the lease. However, after further review, there are a number of additional costs no noted in the agreement process, i.E. PayPerClick for search engine advertisement, and an additional $3.95 per month for repair or replacement of the leased equipment. I did not agree to during our initial conversation. Additionally, $23 per month for a merchant account to do business.

4. I spoke to Oliver Jones all of two hours and I was qualified right away, and that I would be sent the materials to start running my business. But what I got was some motivation CD and paper work. That is not what I was to be getting. My understanding was I was to get paper work and help to select, build and open a web site to administer. This includes what to sell, help to build a web site (not that I had to build it myself), a hosting service for the site, and where the goods I was selling was to be purchased.

5. Also, a misrepresentation as I see it, that very few people who apply for the Startup Essentials get approved. He indicated 1500 new applicants' daily but 2 or 3 would be approved. For What I have seen now on the web and in the BBB complaints listing RIP OFF REPORT this is not true. Most all who apply, if you can get them to agree - they get signed. I do not wish to do business with this kind of misrepresentation in a company.

6. The representative on the phone finally got me to get logged into the online agreement and indicated just initial all the blocks and we would go over them later. However, we never did go over them. I got an email with said agreement and was reading it the day we got the delivery of the computer without the ability to disagree with what was in that list.

7. I also disagree with any and all the joystick / mouse initials and signatures because they were put on places I had not yet seen, read nor was not read to me.

8. If is wish to talk to a representative on the phone, it seems all I get to do is leave a message at the customer service number. No representative is there anytime, which to me is no customer service and fails the 24 by 7 guarantee.

I hope at this point you can see that all those things noted are part of a misleading pressure sales pitch and I do not wish to be a part of those activities. I also hope this report helps you to not do business with these companies. I have found severalother reports similare to mine. Don't do business with these people.
