My husband subscribed over the telephone to BargainNetwork.com for one month for an intoductory fee of $1.95. Before the 30 day period was up, he had the account closed. The fee was debited from his checking account and three months later we received a NFS notice from the bank.

There were four seperate charges to four different places since he had first signed up to BargainNetwork.com. None of them except for the one time charge of $1.95 were to BargainNetwork.com. The other charges were to 24protectplus, passporttofun, premierhlthplus, and privacymatters. The charges were $16.95 per place for the past three months.

This was a total of $203.40 in charges that we new nothing about. With the kicker of having over a hundred and something dollars in NFS charges.

I got the statement from the bank and called the 800 numbers given with the unauthorized charges. After waiting over 15 to the first 800 number I hung up and called the next one of the four. It was the one associated with passporttofun. I waited arround 15 to 20 minutes before I talked to an actual person who barely spoke English. His name was Clifford with agent #14143, I told him my problem and he directed my call to his supervisor. She also had a non-American accent, but her English was more understandable.

Her name was Shaweta with agent #16033. She told me that she could close the accounts and refund our money for last months, but not the month before. She said that although this months showed our statement as being charge 10 days ago that the company could not refund it because they had not received it from my bank yet.

I asked to speak to her supervisor and she could not forward my call or give me any other numbers to call. I asked for a refund of the NFS charges that the company she worked for had caused. She gave me a fax number to customer relations and gave me a list of personal information that needed to be on the fax when I faxed a complaint asking for the refund of the NFS charges.included on this list was a copy of our bank statement for the past three months.

She did tell me that her Supervisors name was Micheal, but she could not and would not forward my call or give me any other numbers. I then asked what the name of the company was that controlled these four places and she told me Adaptive Marketing. I asked for the CEO's name, she gave Gary Johnson. Once again she could not and would not give a number and repeated that I should fax all of my personal information to the customer relations. I asked for an address and she gave me the one listed above.

Our bank has been helpful and has told us that we should wait a week to see if the charges are refunded and if not that we will still be with in the 60 days to take further action to at least get our money back for two months worth of the unathorized charges.

I have read reports that favor my own dealing with the same company. Is there any way to stop them from doing this to more and more people? This scam has cost us a months worth of formula and diapers for our infant. Who knows what it has and is costing other people.
