Davison Design And Development, Davison Inventigration: Don't get ripped off

I only wish I would have done my research on Davison before I enlisted their services, so that I might have had some better information before going into business with them. The purpose of this report is to make readers aware that the experience I had with Davison Design and Development.

One would expect that a corporation who publicly advertises would be successful based on its reliability, professionalism and integrity.instead, in my experience, I found them unprofessional and disingenuous. Upon contacting their corporation I was put into contact with "the" director of new products Gary &. Who I am assuming after reading several of these reports is simply one of many trained to oversell their services and feign personal interest in your ideas.

Originally, I as well as many others, paid $685, with the understanding that this amount of money would allow me to put a patent on my product. The legal documents sent thereafter ensure that you understand this is indeed not the case. Davison, for their fee will agree to submit your paperwork to the U.S. Patent Office but guarantees nothing more. Additionally, I was specifically tolD, "Well, I can't guarantee that you can go out and buy a Ferrari, but your product looks like it could make a lot of money." The agreement states that you clearly understand that this is not the case that they can never guarantee those claims.

For the $685 that I paid I received a packet of other inventions and design ideas that had nothing to do with my product. Legally, the claim that they have the express right to change the appearance and or design concepts of the invention and or idea. This is similiar to presenting them with a design for an automobile and receiving design concepts for a bicycle. Legally they can say that they both move and use tires, but are quite obviously totally distinct. There is a certain amount of good faith placed upon them by their customers but, in my experience, this is nothing more than a smokescreen that they prey upon. I was then asked to sign this agreement, and pay for additional services.

After receiving these obviously flawed design concepts I notified them in writting of this error. I then received a call from Gary, after months of no contact, and then his superior. Despite promising to move forward with the product, as we had expressly agreed, I received a letter a few months later, despite leaving numerous messages requesting Gary contact me, stating that it was their understanding that the agreement had been terminated. After notifying them that the agreement had in fact not been terminated, I received no further contact from them to this date, which at the time of this posting is a little over a year.

Legally, I believe that they might be protected via the legalese in their agreement forms. But ethically and professionally people should be aware that while Davison may claim to offer years of experience in developing new products, but in my experience this was a smokescreen to petition for more money (up to $12,560) and deliver absolutely nothing of any value. Don't get ripped off like I did, don't go to these people, spend the $10,000 and get a U.S. Patent attorney.
