Tiny Details
Ripoff

I, like many of you, found this posting too late. I had googled Tiny Details and searched for hours to find out if it was a scam. After actually recieving the kit I decided to try Metacrawler and thats how I found this website. When I found the Tiny Details website I was fooled by how safe it sounded. I even e-mailed them with a list of detailed questions because I figured that If they e-mailed me back I could trust them. Well, they did e-mail me back two days later and again I was convinced that they were a ligitamate company. I recieved the kit in the mail and only 4 days after ordering. When I opened the Russian Tea Box kit I was convinced that I had been totally scammed. I paid $55 for 3 sheets of printed paper, a tiny bottle of Elmer's glue and a cheap break away blade. When I looked at the sheets of paper I first thought, "how the hell does anyone work with something so tiny?" and then, "Of course they had to use flimsy paper instead of cardboard or something sturdy like that." I took a look at the sample that was enclosed. They were done pretty well. Too well. It didn't seem possible that someone could use their fingers to make those tiny folds. And how is it that these little boxes hold up so well when you only glue them in one spot, the rest is left up to the impossible folding. I then read over the instructions and tried to make a couple. They were extremely difficult to cut out because they were so small. Even more difficult to fold the tiny flaps, and when it came to actually closing the little box, you were sure to crush or twist or misshape the tiny tea box in the process. I managed to make two boxes that actually turned out suprisingly well. Not as perfect as the samples though, some of the ink on the printed paper wears off during the tedious folding and the flaps are either too large in some areas or too small to hold closed. I decided to try sending them back their own perfect samples as my first sample to see if they were accepted. They made sure to reassure me that they wanted one sample sent back to them so they could inspect it and save me any trouble making a bunch of mistakes. The only problem with that was that I had to send them a sample and wait longer to see if it even passed their ridiclous inspection. Suprise! It didn't pass. Wow, go figure. Now I know I have been scammed. I even sent an e-mail to them saying that I sent them their own sample to see how truthful they were and they rejected it. I have yet to get a response. I'm sure that this is just another scam and that I'm out $55 because I was fooled into falling for it. I hope this helps anyone in deciding wether or not to go with this company. If my experiance helps anyone then the money was well spent but please save yourself the time, frustration, and most of all, the money.
