True Scam Sent excuses not to accept books Groton New York

I ordered the "kit" back in September. Reading the website, it says that everything you could possibly need is in the kit with no extra tools. They charge $50 for this "kit" as a deposit. This kit has a $1 bottle of Elmers Glue, a 50 cent breakaway knife, and paper that is printed. $50 they charge for this. They claim that if you don't finish your project, they keep half of it to help pay for loss of supplies, ONLY if you return their $1 bottle of glue and break away knife. What's wrong with this picture?

I finished the first book, and it was very obvious you could not make the book with that breakaway knife. Looking at their sample, it was obvious they did not follow their own rules. They claim that if you follow the directions exactly, you will have a product exactly like the sample. This is not the case.

I sent them two samples, I sent them a book I made, and I took a dust cover from the kit they sent me, put it on their sample, and sent them both in. Their response. Both samples were unacceptable.

How the heck can they reject their own sample? The rejection reasons were over a page long! Someone else I know did the books as well, and also got a page of rejections. Who exactly HAS created books to their specs? It's obvious they want to keep the money, and will keep rejecting and rejecting any samples sent to them. Espically since I sent their own sample to them, and they sent back saying it wasn't good enough.

I used a paper cutter to cut along the lines for the dust covers, yet they stated it was cut uneven. The pages were not printed straight, and some of the lines were crooked. The page was somewhat crooked as well.

Honestly, I don't know of anyone who actually buys the stuff from them, they are making all their money from everyones deposits. This site only proves this to be true, because everyone seems to have the same exact problem.

Yet the company goes back and starts quoting their "terms and conditions" and states that we just aren't following directions.

They want the samples sent to them, and they make all these excuses, yet they don't even OPEN the packages! They claimed one of my books had the pages glued together. This was actually pertaining to THEIR sample they stated. The other book I had used a glue stick on just the "spine" and there was no way for any glue to seep over since it wasn't their elmers glue in the first place. The staple on the package was intact. How did they check it if they never even opened it? I also used my glue stick on the bag to make sure they sealed, of which was never broke or opened. Yet they claim they had this list of 30 things wrong with the book.

This cries scam. You can't possibly examine a product closely through a plastic bag.

Although they claim all you need is the stuff in their kit, I am willing to bet money they could not make a book exactly to perfection that they claim they want, using just the supplies in their "kit". $50 for a bottle of glue. Oh, and they claim that the knife was dull, thats why it didn't cut perfectly. Knives weren't made to cut paper.

With so many people posting reports, there has got to be something wrong with this "company". How can so many people be bad at making something as simple as these? My aunt, who does crafts and makes doll house furniture tried this company a while back, and also got hers rejected with a huge list of stuff "wrong". She turned around, went to a doll house collector, sold it to them who stated the stuff was perfect.

If you really want to waste $50, send it to me, I could use it. This company sure doesn't need it, they've stolen enough money from people. As long as they maintain a presence online, they will continue to steal from people. Their income isn't from selling the product, it's from peoples deposits on their $1 bottle of glue.
