My experience with the University of Phoenix in Dallas has been a nightmare. I met with the recruiter on a Saturday who set me up to start class on the next Monday. I did not get to meet with a financial advisor until the next Thursday. When I met with the advisor, I was told my out of pocket expense would be approximately three hundred dollars a month.
The out of pocket expense was more than I could afford and immediately withdrew. I was not told what the tuition charges would be by the recruiter at the time I registered, and now I'm being billed over three hundred dollars for attending 2 hours of class.
I've questioned the school and asked if it is policy to enroll and encourage students to attend class without advising them of their financial responsibility.
