In December I purchased a 19" LCD AG Neovo pc monitor model F-419 from Buy dot com. There was a dual rebate offer included with the purchase from the manufacturer. One rebate was for $10 and the second was $40. The forms were downloaded from the website where I purchased the monitor.
I followed the requirements and submited the two rebates to AG Neovo. On 12-05-05 they were mailed to two differnt PO boxes in San Jose, CA. AG Neovo said allow 8-12 weeks to receive the rebates.
Well it's been over fifteen weeks since the rebates were mailed. Three times I have contacted AG Neovo at the phone number listed on the forms to track the rebate status (408-321-8210). The first time I was told to allow more time, second time, the same answer. I called today and was told to "call back later" there was no one available to take my call.
It looks like another rebate scam!
I emailed Buy.com several time concerning the rebate but only got a canned reply that said "Thank you for emailing us. Your email will be read and answered within 10 hours OR
your email will be escalated to our corporate headquarters for claims, refunds, and policy exceptions". Please allow one or two business days for us to process these kinds of requests.
Of course that never happened.
Today I notified Buy.com to close my account as I would not be doing business w / them again as I feel they are not a reputable web business.
I hate rebates!
