Mr. Chris Allen called me on my cell phone-the caller id popped up 129. He stated he was with the IRS and offered me $12500. I would receive $500 in grocery coupons and I would get papers sent to my address to sign and return. I would have to pay $a one time charge of 29.50 for processing, but that would come out of my "free money" he said.
Then he gave me a verification code and said not to share it w / anyone. That would be used when my bank called me to authorize the withdrawal of funds. I told him I was not at ease about giving my checking account number to anyone, but he said I give it to total strangers everytime I write a check.
After a few months I would see a deposit of $1000 a month into my checking for seven months. I had to also verify my mailing address, that I had no bankruptcies, etc. Also I was offered medical insurance and long distance calling plan.
This guy who supposedly worked for the government was indian speaking. The number 18778514375 he gave me was not picking up and the website www.americangrantsinformation, com was coming up page not found.
Don't fall for this one!
