I received a call from GSI grant services asking why I had not claimed my $5000 federal grant from 2002?"The Federal Government faxed them over my info." They verified my information (Name, address and phone) That's all they had. They had no SS#, DL# previous address, anything. So I played along asking questions they stumbled to come up with answers for. You go through a recording process. It was funny, you only can say "yes or no" or the "computer kicks them out of the process" HA HA HA!
So they asked me if I authorized them to withdraw funds out of my account, I said "yes provided you do X, Y, Z..." They stopped the recording and went to do it all over again. Funny the computer kicks you off if you say more than yes or no. They had me speak my name and address and it didn;t kick them off! They also call aroun 7 or 8pm to ensure your bank is closed. They are lame. My bank is open until 9pm and I have 24 hour assistance. Ask them their address. They won't give it to you. Ask them to fax you info. They won't. Ask them if you can contact the "Federal government about your grant "sorry, they have turned it over to us." They say the $298.00 processing fee keeps the government from taxing you. Clearly they to play people who don;t know anything about taxes.
I'm of work on leave. This will give me plenty of time to find these crooks. I also have plenty of legal and financial resoources to help. I have already notified my bank, trandsfered out my funds, and closed the account I gave them. I hope more people write their expereinces here and we can take these *ssho#le$ out.
