I ordered a 2004 coupon book in April of last year online through some "Mommy" website that offered $5.00 off the price of the book and free shipping. I received my email confirmation that my order has been shipped. The next day I received 4 more emails and the following day, 2 more emails.
I immediately contacted the company and asked if I was in fact getting one book or seven. The customer service rep told me that she only saw one order and I would receive one book. I received my first book and 2 days later received 6 more.
Not only that, but my bank account has 7 total withdrawls when I should have had only one. It took several phones calls to The Entertainement Book and also one from my bank's dispute department before I received my 6 credits. I then requested to cancel my account and was told that I had to renew for the next years book or I would be charged an additional $15.
I renewed my account and received an email this month (Sept. 2005) that my order has been shipped. I received my 2006 coupon book and called them to cancel my account. 2 days later, I received an email that my order has been shipped.
I called again and SOMEHOW I had 2 different profiles. I was told to refuse shipment on the second book. The next day, my account was charged for an additional book. I called them and the next day another charge to my account. I now have over $75 taken out of my bank account when it should be only $14.98.
I just spoke to a Supervisor who said he would send me an email confirmation that all accounts have been closed in my name; that my account from this point on would not be charged another dime AND I would receive a credit to my bank account for $44.98 It has been 3 hours and I still do not have the email.
The company not only took my money due to an internal error, but then had the nerve to say that if I cancelled, I would be charged. Then, to top it all off, they nailed me again this year for 2 more books and hey, they have all of next month to rip me off again.
The most unnerving aspect is that this company actually offers their books for fund raising!
