In June I ordered one book from discountbooksale.com. For the past four months, I have been charged 19.95 at the end of the month—sometimes on the 31st and sometimes on the 25th for a 'book membership' that I apparently signed up for when I purchased my book. However, there is nothing on more order confirmation stating that my debit card was to be charged monthly for a book membership... There was no information even regarding a book membership. On the website, there is nothing that even states a 'book membership'.
When I noticed the charges and called to complain - demanding my money back, the customer service rep. Told me there was a free 'introductory trial period'. Yet, I was first charged 19.95 FOUR days after I placed my order, which was at the end of the month!
They told me they sent me two emails, which I don't have a record of. I received nothing in the mail from them, and there is no record on my account online of me even belonging to a membership club! The customer service rep. Told me the best she could do is credit me two out of the four months I was charged. When I asked to speak with the returns department, she informed me that there is NO phone number for them... I wonder why... And they would be contacting me in 3/4 days via EMAIL!
Clearly, they are extremely deceptive and I have read other accounts online of previous customers claiming fraudulent charges and bogus special bundle deals... Buyer beware!
