Tri-State Driving School
Ripoff unprofessional, dishonest, manager/owner unavailible for a month, customers service horrible

A friend recommended Tri-State Driving School to me. I currently live in Hackensack, NJ, but work in the city. Being that my friend recommended me this school and it seemed at the time convenient to take lessons after work once a week there, I called first to find out what their offers were. A young woman explained to me the different plans that they had. I signed up for six-classes (45mins each); 5hrs course; and the road test for a total of $240.00. Sounded great to me! I however, put a down payment of 120.00. On Saturday July 2nd of I went to the walk-in 5hr course. After it was over, I was signed up for the road test for Aug. 11th. My first lesson was scheduled for July 7th and my second lesson was scheduled for July 14th. Both lessons went really well.

However, when my 3rd lesson came around on the 21st of July, the secretary called me early that morning to confirm the location and time and even whom the instructor would be. It was 7:20 P.M., when I realized that no one was coming to pick me up an hour later of my pick up time. I called the business several times before and got no answer. I than left a message explaining to them what happen and that I needed a real good explanation to why no one showed up or why no one called me to informed me that no one was coming. This is known as a courtesy call, which I did not get. The next morning I had not heard from the auto school. I called and the secretary explained to me that she is only there until 3p. M and that she had no idea what happen and that the owner who also was my instructor, had not shown up for work yet but as soon as she comes in she will have her call me.

Almost three weeks later I came to hear from the so call owner/manager and this happen only because my father went by to find out in person, since I could not at the time, what the h*l was going on!!! From all the back and forth with the phone calls that I made to this so call auto driving ghetto school, I got responses such as: Sorry, can't return you money until the owner/manager gets back; She is away, she will be back next week; Oh, sorry she was supposed to be back this week but as soon as she gets back, she will call you. I finally got my call back from the owner/manager explaining to me that she was sorry, that she was away, and during her abstance, she had various secretaries attending the phone. I was so disgusted by how this whole ordeal when down that I just wanted a re-imbursement of the two classes since it was such a long time ago I forgot everything of what they shown me. Nevertheless, that did not happen. I got my 5hrs course certificate; two lousy lessons and $40.00 back out of 120.00.

Now to all those who read this I want you to understand why I am angry.
1. As a customer, none of my needs were met.
A. My road test was cancelled because I was not well prepared for it (being that I only got two lessons out of the six that I signed up for).

B. There was another instructor but get this; he was only available until five P.M. According to one of the many secretaries that I spoke too. Mind you, the first question I asked before signing up was what time is this auto school open? The answer was anytime between 6 7:30 P.M. (I get out of work at 5 P.M.).

C. I could not go to another auto-school because when I informed one of the various secretaries that I no longer wanted to be part of this ridulous auto-school, her response to me was well you are going to have to wait until the Owner/Manager comes back. When I asked who did the Owner/Manager leave in charged, the secretary said she was.
D. Owner/Manager goes away for almost a month and leaves no one in charge but a secretary who cannot make any business decision or deal with, like in my situation, with a business conflict.

E. Unprofessional; dishonest; not promising!!!
