Apparently Formerly Starlight Profanity with customer, irate, harrassing threatening phone calls

I called to check on information for a very low-priced Canon camcorder before ordering. I had maybe 5-7 short questions and was literally going to place my order. Phone menu indicated CS hours were over, but instructed to press 1 for help in sales or internet order confirmations.

I pressed 1 as I had sales-related questions, and it sounded like the person who answered was on a speaker phone. There was a lot of background noise and he spoke with a thick accent, so I could hardly make out his answers. After perhaps 5 questions (very short), I was placed on regular phone sound a man said to me, "Lady, do you want to order a camera or do you just want to ask me 25 questions because you're already up to... I lost count!" I was utterly speechless and said, "I absolutely can not believe you are speaking to a customer like this!" He snidely said I must be deaf b/c the menu clearly said that the CS Dept was closed. I indicated I simply (and understandably) had a few questions about the product before ordering. His tone escalated, so I tried to speak above him, and he very slowly and coarsely called me a f*king b*ch more than once.

I was aghast as I have never been treated like this by either a CSR or business operator in my life. I told him I was going to report him and he snidely said he didn't care. I then called back a number of times trying to locate a supervisor and was either hung up on or cussed at. Unfortunately, my cell phone # must have shown up at the store, b/c I then received at least 6 or 8 "restricted calls, " and when I finally answered, the man spoke above me and would not hear a word I was saying. I told him I was going to report him to the authorities for harrassment (again he said he didn't care), and aggressively told me, "You keep calling me, I'll keep calling YOU. Let's make a deal. You don't call me and..." I then shouted, "I am a customer! I am not going to make ANY deals with you!" and hung up. Not only am I convinced these people are scam artists—especially after reading others' reviews—but I personally started to feel that I might even have something to fear. The guy creeped me out.

Also, I didn't understand initially why when navigating to/through their site before calling, that a window came up and I was suddenly asked to log in my Yahoo password.??? These guys operate from a Yahoo e-mail. I felt very uncomfortable—if not "alerted"—and I would recommend absolutely NO ONE to do business of any kind with these people.

What's more, I know as a rule of thumb to be leery of businesses that change their names. These people have and I believe them to be operating a scam of some sort. Buyer beware!
