I was a columbia house member. I bought the amout of DVD's required and cancelled my membership. I moved and was not living at the address that i used for my membership i had moved 2hrs away to college and was living in a dorm.
Apparently columbia house signed me up to a home service insurance company (I still don't know the exact name of the company that charged $1,200 to my credit card because I can't understand them when I tried to call them to find out what/why were these charges on my cc bill)
All the information I got from them was that they were an insurance company for home owners. But I was living in a dorm I did not even own a home. I explained to them my situation that I was a student living in a dorm and now I am student renting an apartment.
I do not own a home and never did. They told me the would cancel my membership (which I never authorized anyone to charge my cc) but would not refund any of my $1,200 ($39.99 charged to my cc for 8 months and I got nothing in return).
