About a month ago I signed up for membership at unlimitedmusicdownload.com. I was signing up for membership for $1/ month for 4 years.
About 2 days later I noticed a $48 charge to my account. I just assumed that I had misread the information and was being charged for the full 4 years in one payment.
Just yesterday I got a notice that my checking account was overdrawn from a charge to my debit card for $59.95. I had not made any purchases so I called the bank to investigate and they gave me the name and number of New Healthy Savings.
I called them today - and was told they would cancel my membership and refund the money. They would not however give me any kind of confirmation number. I asked for a supervisor and was given an e-mail, I kept insisting on speaking to someone and got some sort of director. He promised that the money would be returned to my account in 10-15 working days but would not fax or provide any written proof.
I called my bank back and was told I needed proof from the site that a refund was coming then they would issue provisionary credit to my account.
After reading this site I'm not holding my breathe for a refund. I plan to visit my bank this afternoon to file a Regulation E Dispute and to cancel my debit card just in case. I also plan to file a police report (my sister is a cop so it makes that part a little easier) just for extra proof to hopefully get my money back from my bank.
I would be interested to hear if anyone has ever gotten the promised refund from this company. Thanks to them I am now over $200 in the hole because of other insufficent funds charges from purchases I did make.
