How unfortunate to know that there are corporations out there thriving on people and being allowed to do so.
I'm speaking not only for the students who have wasted many months and thousand of dollars but for some of the honest staff members that were loyal to the STUDENTS which I along with others do appreciate!
I graduated BCTI along with my husband July of Class 1202C.
When my husband and I went to inquire about their school we were told so many wonderful things.
The representative (cheerleader) said make a difference in your life, I want to see you in the class tomorrow.
We did it, we were in the class the next day. A class that we were not supposed to be entered into since we had already missed the cut off date, but of course they found a way to overlook that minor detail so that we could be a part of the team!
The cheerleader was right our life did change, we're thousands of dollars in debt, having a bill collector calling us and our families at home and at work daily and we remain in jobs similar to the ones we had when we began there.
There were two phases that BCTI had to offer. The first phase was learning about computer applications and the second to become A and NT certified.
My husband already knew the computer applications that they taught in the first phase and was only interested in taking the second phase, the representative explained to him that you must take phase one to take phase two.
I feel that a reputable school would give you the opportunity to take a test on the applications taught to see if you could jump right into the second phase. BCTI was obviously more about collecting twice the tuition.
My husband went along with the first phase consistently getting extra work due to finishing before the other students in the class and continued to phase two, fortunately, he pulled out of the second phase once he realized that it too was going to be a waste of time before it was too late.
When speaking with the representative she asked both of us what we did for a living. She told us that if we attended and completed their school that we would definitely be able to obtain a better career.
Before graduating we are to have a mock interview and discuss the direction to take when applying for employment. When the counselor asked what my current profession was and I told her she stated that I already had a good job and that I should stick with what I am doing now.
Thank you for that honesty two months before graduation!
As for the actual learning experiences, how can you learn computer applications on a computer that is constantly down. There were so many employee changes that took place that it disrupted the flow of the class. We constantly had to inform the new instructors what we had already gone over and once they were on the same page we would get a new instructor or consistent substitutes.
There are so many individual complaints that I could mention about the actual classes and some of the staff, however, I will sum it up like this.
Every time I think about how we were manipulated into their web it makes me sick to my stomach.
We're having to begin all over again, but this time we have debts to pay and we are unable to get assistance because we already have too many loans.
If there would be any advice that I could lend it would be for people to really investigate the schools that they are interested in. You're going to be responsible for that school payment for a really long time, so make it worth it!
There was good out of all of this I met some amazing people that I will always remember, class 1202C and Hunter of PROGROW!
