I requested my "free" credit report from the company then called "ClearCredit.com", as advertised on their website.
This was over 2 years ago. No charges were made on my credit card, and I didn't enlist any of their other services they advertised (for various fee amounts). That was the last and ONLY dealings with them I had.
2 1/2 WEEKS ago, (2/14), I am paying my credit card bill, and much to my shock, see an unauthorized, unrecognizable charge on my credit card, in the amount of $9.95. It lists the merchant as "MyPerfectCredit", and gives the following phone number, (877 469-7373).
I immediately call this number only to be put on hold by the automated system for TWENTY MINUTES! I hung up and called again, only to get a busy signal. After redialing several times, I got through, only to be CUT OFF!
I then tried to reach them by email. Not recognizing the website, I went back in my email "filing cabinet" and found the email from 2 YEARS ago, from ClearCredit.com.
I performed a web search for this site, and was told no such site existed. So, I simply plugged in "Myperfectcredit.com" and found the exact same site that had been previously known as "ClearCredit.com"
I then wrote a scathing email demanding explanation, and my money back, only to get the proforma, "your email will be answered in the order in which it was received, etc etc, please be PATIENT, yada yada."
I AM FURIOUS, Legal action warrented NOW. I can see from this website, there are numerous similar complaints against this company. My question is HOW, and WHY are they continuing to get away with this? From reading others' complaints, it appears that this has been going on for at least THREE YEARS!
I realize my loss (as of right now anyway), is only $9.95.
HOWEVER, multiply that by the thousands of people who found themselves scammed the way I did, and the fact that it's been going on for at least 3 years. Well you do the math.
These people (if you can call them that, disgusting) are making millions.! Why would they stop?
The answer is THEY WON'T. UNLESS, legal action is taken in some way shape or form. How, where, who, can I reach to attempt to put these scumbags out of business?
Will someone please help me. I am infuriated by the helplessness I am feeling. I feel violated by this "fictional" company.!
