I signed up for NSC because I increasingly realize that proficiency in Chinese is really important. I learned it at school, but I just didn%u2019t think it was enough. I really wanted to better, to get ahead in class and I thought I might as well use the summer as an opportunity to do so. I really liked my tutor because we shared similar interest. I remember writing a questionnaire that I really liked literature. And my tutor happened to be a literature lover. Sometimes I know that%u2019s difficult for a teacher because they know the language structure and the way a sentence works, but she knew how someone whose language wasn%u2019t Chinese would perceive a sentence and she would explain it from that point of view. Which I thought was very good.
