I am hoping that someone can help me. My son, who is 16, ran away from home just before Christmas. A few days after Christmas, my friend who lives in the next town, told me that my son knocked on her door to sell magazines. She bought a subscription from him, because she knows him, and gave him some clothes, food, and a jacket. He was hungry, dirty, and cold. He told her that he was staying somewhere in Ft. Lauderdale. We live in Stuart, and my friend lives in Port St. Lucie. She couldn't get him to stay.
I asked her for the information on the receipt he gave her, and lo and behold the first thing the search engine pulls up on Palmetto Marketing, is my old pal usacomplaints.com!!!
I have heard so many bad things about these types of companies from special news reports (a few years back). They target young people that are hurting and vulnerable and feel that they have no place to go. They pack them into cheap hotel rooms and withhold food unless they sell enough bogus magazine subscriptions that day. They psychologically and physically abuse these kids and I am so frightened of what is being done to my child as I write this: (
My son is white, about 6' tall, and has dark blonde/light brown hair, cut short. He is extremely thin and has a small chin, large hazel eyes, and a prominent nose. I will try to add a recent picture of him after I submit this report.

Please, if you come in contact with him, tell him that he needs to come home. He has warrants out for his arrest in connection with his juvenile probation violation, and the longer he runs, the worse it's going to be for him. Please let him know that his family misses him and his baby sister cries for him every night.
