I was sitting at home when they called and I had just sent info off to another grant co, so I thought maybe they're just calling me up. When they wanted my checking # I should have hung up on them but I didn't.
I'm glad to know I'm not the only one to fall for this but it stinks! I bank with a credit union and I don't think it will be easy to freeze my account, get a new #. But I will call my bank tomorrow.
The one thing that they did say in the recorded verifying part was that I could cancel within 3 days. So I will call them back, too, to do that...
