Unfortunately, I found myself in a situation where I needed a loan quick. To the credit of MCN, inc they were able to help me out. However, I never realized at what price my temporary relief was going to cost me.
My Cash Now appears to have something "not quite right" about the way they present themselves and the way they conduct business as opposed to the way its ACTUALLY conducted when its time to collect their money.
I borrowed $400 as well, under the expectation that I would have to pay back $87.00 for the loan. Which already is interesting as that is DOUBLE the normal charges for most loan companies in my state. Now since i was in need, i felt that i had to do it and accept those terms. After talking to the sales rep for the company she informed me that since I was so close to the end of the month i could log-in to the website within the next few days and request an extention with no additional fees. I specifically asked her to repeat her explanation as I wanted to make sure i heard it correctly. She re-explained it and confirmed what i heard.
So... I logged on to their user website and immediately became alarmed when I saw what the extention fee was going to cost me. However, since it was scheduled to come out of my account the next day, i had no choice. So, i chose the option and immediately called MCN the next day. Upon calling I immediately stated their was a misunderstanding and the representative had mis-represented their policy and loan terms. The manager of MCN asked me I read the website agreement, i said, "No, as obviously i was discussing the terms on the phone with the sales associate." He proceeded to tell me that the details of financing are clearly explained in their website.
What he failed to realize is that i am paid monthly. The website refers to monthly checks as a "custom" pricing. However, the sales associate did not tell me this. Then he asked me what the sales rep looked like was she white or black. I stated black and he said he would speak with the sales associate, but there was nothing he could do. I immediately contributed it to a learing experience and shrugged it off. But the fees kept coming up for every 2 weeks. As opposed to the our original agreement.
My suggestion - use a local cash advance company, one that you can physically get your hands on if needed.
MCN is a rip-off.
As I am a Sales manager, i know what mis-representing your services is about and I know that is what has been done in this instance. I am forwarding a copy of this report to the attourney general for the State of Nevada to request an immediate investigation into the book-keeping and legal practices of this organization.
