On Saturday, November 13, I was called on my cell phone while attending a conference in Seattle, Washington and was offered $5000 for the purchase of my cell phone number—a rather unique number combination. When I asked for a telephone number of this man's organization, he insisted that he needed verification from me. I pressed him for an address and was given one in Clearwater, Florida. I also asked that my name be taken off the call list before hanging up.
Finally, this aggressive and frightening man may have been calling from somewhere other than the United States based on the pronunciation of several words and the static on the phone.
