First Texas Homes
Has an Unsatisfactory Better Business Bureau Rating, Violates Building Codes, Violates HOA Covenants. Rip-off!

First Texas is building homes with minimal landscaping in violation of the covenants of our HOA. The covenants require two rows of 5 gallon shrubs in the front of homes. First Texas puts in one row of very sparse small shrubs. The covenants require landscaped beds along the backs of homes along greenbelts and First Texas did not put beds in at all or the necessary sprinkler systems to maintain the beds.

They are also building homes with the same elevation side by side despite a rule against that in the covenants. The developer is unwilling or unable to effectively fight against First Texas.

They also did not put in gutters as required by the city of Frisco on many homes. Unfortunately the city passed inspection on these homes and had to be called back in to enforce their own code. Even then, First Texas is fighting not to put in the underground flexpiping on 14 homes.

Some homeowners may have been "tricked" into paying for gutters even though they were required by the city. Another homeowner is being named in a lawsuit because First Texas did not pay their subcontractor. This may have left the homeowner open to liability.

I am not a First Texas homeowner. I just live in a neighborhood that they are destroying. Randall VanWolfswinkel, president of First Texas, is supposedly a "genius at cutting costs". But the homeowners and neighborhood ultimately pay the price.
