My wife and I called APWfilm. She saw the van at the dollar store and took down their number. We wanted window tint for our house so we called them. A short pugy fellow showed up and gave us two choices, a light grey and a reflective silver type film. This is as he said they had is stock, but its the best he contended.
The pricing was six dollars per square foot. Another guy came in without removing his work boots and proceeded to measure up the front living room windows. He didnt even ask permission, he just said excuse me and pulled out a measuring tape. I said that I have all the measurements and he said I didnt know how to measure glass.
All we wanted was a price quote not an invasion. We had John the Tinter come over and he was a joke, so my wife called 3M and they were not much better but 3M is a good name. His pricing was very high so reluctantly we went with APWFilm.
They came, sprayed water everywhere saying that dust rolls up from the hardwood floors, so to keep dust down they need to sray everywhere. My wife was so upset.
They installed the tint and Michael the window tint installer was boasting how they did the job in record time.
Not 3 days later and the tint began to roll back from the top. Our front living roll window is 11 feet off the ground and all along the top the tint rolls back by three feet. I called APWFILM and called and called and no one came back out. They cashed the cheque and that was the last we have seen of them.
My wife who is 4 months pregnant with our first child go up on a ladder and scotched taped the tint all along the top. We had to do the same on 9 other windows.
We should have went with 3M, if Scotch Tape holds up LLumar then maybe LLumar should take a hint.
It was after all of this that I went on line to see what kind of reputation APWFilm has and I was shocked. Everything that is said there is true, these guys are weird, and money hungry. They were not even finished with the last window that they were all ready demanding for payment.
The Arab looking guy offer to come back and do my car for cash but he said not to tell his boss. I couldnt believe what was happening.
The video on their website done by ZOOM FX shot by Henri-Pierre Thibault says it all, these people at APWFilm have something to hide. I read somewhere that they even have a sex offender working for them, my god if my wife saw this she make me sell the house and move.
THIS IS A FAIR WARNING TO ALL, APWFILM IS NOT TO BE TRUSTED. And this guy at ZOOM FX (www.zoomFX.ca) must be in on it, maybe some should look into his background.
