Neil came out - all smiles and assurances, telling me that since he was licensed and insured and been doing this forever I could trust him. Then he took the money and turned the job over to his son, Michael.
The equipment was duct taped together - and stopped working later that night. Neil came out and informed me that Michael used a hose that was too short and that it could have popped out the pool from draining all the water so close. It went down hill from there.
The job was a mess. The pool finish requires specific care after it's done - they didn't tell me what to do so I finally had to call the manufacturer. At one point I tried to call Neil and Michael wouldn't let me talk to him-instead he screamed at me.
The finish is blotchy, streaked and the steps are horribly done - sharp edges and odd shaping instead of curved like they should be.
Fixing the light was supposed to be part of the job-that's what we agreed on verbally but he didn't write it on the contract. Then they tried to charge me an additional $155 for the transformer. I've had 2 electricians out here since then and they both came to the conclusion that it is a wire, not the transformer.
They were supposed to send me a warranty in the mail. I never got it. They asked me to sign a piece of paper regarding the things that were supposed to be finished on the job and then they took it and wrote "job complete" after I'd signed it, making it look like I had signed off that it was all done.
These people are crooks, and I would be afraid to have Michael anywhere near me. His fuse is short and he seems to have no impulse control. Don't go near these people. You'll be sorry.
