I also recently purchased a "Venus Flytrap" from www.bugbitingplants.com who states that the 7-10 Year old Venus flytraps are "very mature specimens" and "will produce the largest traps off all of our Venus flytraps. The rule of thumb is, the older the plants the larger the traps will grow."
What I received was a very young, small plant that is in no way worth what I paid for a mature plant ($24). The largest leaf was about the size of a penny. I have seen identical plants as this at various local sellers for $5.99. Additionally, I was charged $8.50 for shipping when the shipping label clearly shows $6.20. The seller said the extra was "handling" but was not stated anywhere on the site.
Packaging was terrible and offered no protection for the plant while in shipment. It was a standard USPS box with a slight amount of newspaper for packaging. No clear dome or other protection was on the plant.
When contacting the seller, he would not refund, swap or offer a credit, regardless of my attempts to reach an agreement. He defiantly asserted no wrong-doing of any sort and was very denigrating.
