In I ordered floor heating products over the telephone from Easy Warm Floor. The products arrived and my CC was charged just as I was told on the phone. A few months later, I received two additional $50 charges on my CC from Easy Warm Floor.
I contacted Easy Warm Floor and was told that the charges were for "Design & Administration" or something like that. I did not agree to these charges and they were never mentioned in the quote I received over the phone.
I disputed with my CC company, but they sided with Easy Warm Floor b/c they produced a quote showing the extra charges (this was apparently either emailed to me or included in the shipment of the product). Very puzzeling since their website clearly states "Free design over a toll free number" see (http://www.easywarmfloor.com/info.php)
I called Easy Warm Floor back pretending to be a new customer to see IF they would attempt to deceive me again. The Sales Rep was very very helpful and quoted me the exact cost of the product, and told me that the design service was "free". I repeatedly asked him IF there were any additional charges for Design, Admin, or order processsing and he assured me that there wasn't.
I then told him that I was a former customer and that I'd been charged additional amounts for Design and asked if he was aware that his company used these deceptive business practices. He seemed to be in the "dark'. After awhie, he transferred me to "Mohammed". I attempted to direct Mohammed to the section of his website that stated the Design was Free, but he didn't care and did not refund my $.
I would like to see WGN or Date Line expose Mohammed and Easy Warm Floor for their unethical/illegal business practices. I would expect that Easy Warm Floor's Suppliers (e.G. Honeywell) would not be pleased to know that this is how they treat their customers.
