My daughter, her roommate and myself went to Haynes to buy a sofa for their new apartment. With the help of one of the salesmen we were able to select a sofa that was on sale. After making the necessary arangements (payments and delivery date) we thought that everything was fine.
When the time came for the delivery, they delivered a chair instead. The salesman had ordered a chair instead of the sofa. The store was contacted and they had a sofa in stock but they said that they could not deliver it until Wednesday. We explain to them that they need a sofa that day. We had to go over to Haynes to pick up the sofa and we talk to the salesman and the Asst. Gen. Manager Mr. Barry Wimmer who was very rude to us. He said the only thing he could do was to give us the delivery fee back or refund our money which will take up to three weeks in the mail.
I told him that they messed up not us and they inconvience us and they should give us a discount on the sofa. He said that he couldn't do that because that was not company policy. He didn't say he was sorry for the mix up or anything. He just kept saying that his salesman made a mistake. I will never shop in Haynes again and I will tell my family and my friends about my experinece with Haynes Furniture Company of Richmond, VA. And advise them not to shop there either.
