We hired these folks under someone else's high recommendation of being a company of good reputation. We had a contract to paint every interior surface - walls, ceilings, doors, trim work - with primer and paint that we purchased. They also wanted us to purchase some supplies such as tape, which we had no problem with. We were not there to supervise the work.
On first glance, everything seemed to be mostly in order - there were missed spots, splatters, etc which we would do ourselves. The first bad thing we saw later when we tried to do some touch up was the ceiling in the living room. They had applied Kilz, but did not follow up with ceiling paint. I contacted Mr. Garcia, and he said he would send someone out the next day to finish the work. They never showed. I tried calling every 30 minutes for two days and no one answered. I tried calling for about a week after that, and no answer - just a voicemail that did not state the name of the business. We had to hire other painters for $300 dollars to finish the work.
Instead of painting the doors white, they painted with a cream white color, and they did a poor job with the underlying white color bleeding through. We couldn't exactly match the color to coat it over. On closer inspection, the work was very sloppy. There was splatters everywhere: floors, cabinets, blinds, windows, counter tops, shelves. The paint on the molding was poorly done with wall paint on the molding. They just did not take the time, or to take the care, to do the job right. We have spent up to 40 man hours trying to fix their mistakes.
We are going to have to purchase new shelves in the closet (about $100) to replace the ones dribbled with paint. We also had to repaint a large walk-in closet because half of it was done in egg-shell, and the other half in satin finish. The window sills were not cleaned before painting - we had to repaint those. The grate for the central air was not cleaned before painting, and they painted over dirt. Since we repainted with the same colors that were there to begin with, we found some of the walls were not repainted. These are the things we know they didn't do. I have to wonder what else they skipped.
The fact that they never intended to make good on their word to fix the work after they were paid shows that they are not a responsible firm. Googling Mr. Garcia, it appears he has a multitude of business names, addresses and telephone numbers - Just Right Painting was just the newest of a list. If they had such a good reputation, then why are they changing the name of their company all the time? Mr. Villegas telephone was disconnected when I tried to reach him. All of this raises a big red flag about the kind of business that they are - not reputable! I would not recommend them under any circumstances!
