Please be careful with Adriatic Plumbing and Heating. This company charges by the hour, not by the job. They use tricks to run up the clock and inflate the bill.
They were supposed to replace two shut-off valves under the kitchen sink. For an experienced plumber this is a very simple job.
Trick #1. They arrived in the morning, said they did not have the necessary parts and had to go the supply house to get the parts.
Trick #2. The job required shutting off the main valve to the entire line of apartments. They did not arrange with the building ahead of time when to shut off the main valve resulting in a long wait time.
All together they charged me for 5 hours of the plumber's time and 5 hours of the helper's time and presented me with the bill for $853.
$853 for replacing two shut-off valves under the kitchen sink. What a rip-off!
My advice - if you insist on using Adriatic Plumbing and Heating, negotiate the price for the entire job. If they insist on charging you by the hour, stay away, use someone else - do not get ripped off by these tricksters.
