I have purchased a spec home from Ryland in a hurry. I should have done more research but I didn't have any time at the time so I did without any of that. What a grief!
First of all, they promised to pay part of the closing cost if their mortgage company was used. I did that with my perfect credit but what I found out at the closing was that I didn't get to save any closing costs becasue they charged extra fees to absorb all the money promised to give to the buyer. Too late for that by the time I found out.
The worse problem is that my cabinets are falling apart after few years of using it all by myself infrequently (since I don't cook much) and the company insists that their cabinets are such high quality so they exclusively use them and I should just go out and buy the replacement as if IT IS A NORM. I didn't know that cabinets could be made from materials other than woods and it is not made of woods now that I see the pieces of cabinets that fell apart.
