On 6/29 I purchased a reclining couch on line with Victoria at The Dream Merchant. I was assured it would be in a true white color costing me $931.72 which includes taxes, delivery and set up fees.
I got laid off my job and contacted Victoria on Tuesday, 7/12 of such. I asked if I could please cancel the couch as I needed the money more than the couch. She advised me no problem, I just needed to come in and sign some papers.
When I arrived, I was advised this was a "special order" which I was not advised of originally, and no refund would be made. After talking with Diane, pleading my case, she absolutely refused to make any refund. The only offer was to get an "in store credit". I explained I don't need any furniture or anything else they have for sale.
I explained OK I have no choice but to keep it but with the understanding it must be true white. She told me it is true white. When the delivery came today, 7/18 I asked to see it before they brought it into my residence. It is not true white and called the company immediately talking to Cris. They now are offering me a refund at a 20% restocking fee. They still want me to pay a delivery and set up fee of $65.00. This is totally unacceptable. Please help me.
