My wife and I spent months looking for furniture before we found exactly what we were looking for at Robinsmay of Puente, CA. We paid the full price for the furniture since it was perfect for our home. The cost was $2200.00.4 Weeks later, October 24, the furinture was delivered and set up for us in our living room. My wife and I then went on a long vacation and returned in November. From the time we had the furniture delivered to the time I write this, we have sat on the sofa about 30 minutes.
On December 3rd,5 weeks after they delivered the furniture, I was decorating our home for Christmas and moved the sofa for the first time. A rear leg of the sofa fell off. I turned the sofa upside down to investigate the damage. What I saw infuriated me. The silk lining of the undercarriage had a 6 inch tear in it. Also, where the leg used to be I saw splintered wood with (2) "L" shaped bracketts attached to where the leg used to be. These bracketts were obviously placed on the leg PRIOR to it being delivered due to prior damage. Whoever repaired the leg didn't know what they were doing and never bothered telling the person buying the furniture that it was damaged.
I called Robinsmay customer service to complain and either get a new sofa (Like we bought) or our monies returned. I could not believe that Robinsmay customers were sold new furniutre from the showroom but then delivered used, damaged furniture. Customer service said they would have to send out a "Repairman" to see if the leg could be fixed. But I don't want it fixed since I paid for NEW furniture, not re-furbished. When I told them this, they said it is their policy to send a repairman out regardless of the situation.
I am awaiting my appointment with this repairman as I write this. All I want is what I paid for, and that is NEW furniture. The reason I am writing this is I am appalled that Robinsmay would have the lack of ethics, professionalism and integrity by delivering used furniture to my home and then give me the "run around" when this lie is brought to their attention. Where is their responsibility to their customers by not lying to them like some cheap car salesmen???
