MOMAX Made Nightmare Happen

Momax turned my dream into a nightmare!

Very unprofessional sloppy, work!!!

Salesman Luke Rosseland promised things that workers and foreman were either unable or unwilling to deliver. Did not provide me with the Consumer Protection Rights brochure, or an itemized contract.

Foreman Tom Blonski did not oversee work, rarely answered his phone, did not relay messages to workers who did not speak English, did not check work.

Electrical work not done to city code, one outlet was covered with metal plate and drywalled over. Electrician claimed there were too many wires in box to put an outlet there. When I pointed out to owner Fred Resnick that I was missing an outlet in that location he did nothing about it. Electric heaters were removed as planned but wires were capped and left sticking out of wall in crawl space. 220 Circuit breaker was left in place in breaker box. Control switch for heaters was left in wall with drywall being cut out for it. When I pointed out that it should have been removed because heaters were no longer there, it was drywalled over.

New tub drain was pitched wrong. No leak test was performed. I found two leaks after doing leak test myself.

Floor tile setters could not read a simple sketch, did not speak English. I was told they understood everything I said but when I came home from work at noon they were laying the tile wrong. I got them on the right track, however I noticed they did not center the tiles on the floor. They were trying to follow the sketch which said "Not to Scale" as if it were to scale. I decided that I could live with that as long as they got the pattern for the corner cutouts spaced correctly. When I got home from work the pattern was wrong. I could not even figure out what they were thinking. I spent all night taking up the tiles before the cement hardened. Later I was told that it was my fault—that I had changed everything.

They framed the new ceiling in the bathroom (had to be lowered due to canned lights being added) in a most unprofessional manner, nailing the ceiling joists from wall stud to wall stud. They were all crooked. One ceiling joist was made by nailing two boards together since neither board was long enough to span 5 feet. The foreman told me that this is the way they frame ceilings in Chicago and that after it is covered with drywall no one can see it.
I had to tell them to put a board in the wall to support the pedestal sink or it would not have been done. I had to get the directions out for mounting the medicine cabinet and tell them where to put the wall studs.

I had to tell them that you do the framing and plumbing before the electrical work!

Tub flange was left sticking out from drywall on two ends of tub. Could not be tiled that way. Bowed drywall in bathroom was caused by nail left in stud after demolition of existing bathroom.

Foreman Tom Blonski defended the flange sticking out from the drywall issue by saying "It was existing framing." What about furring the wall out to make up for it dummy? Why are you people in the remodeling business??? I can't figure it out.

Foreman Tom Blonski charged me $1100 extra for electrical work in attic. Owner Fred Resnick charged me again for attic electrical.

I just couldn't take these unprofessional people in my home anymore after the bathroom tiles were layed wrong and I spent all night taking them up. So I stopped the work. Now I am out thousands of dollars.
