More than three months ago this service did damage in our home. The damage exceeded that which they immediately admitted to and they were informed.in addition to a frosted glass votive cup that was broken in a fall, damage was also done to an expensive piece of cherry furniture.
As soon as the damage was discovered moments after they left they were informed. The further damage was caused by the tumbling, pointed and sharp glass votive hitting and gouging wood as it rolled across the dresser topper and the dresser itself before hitting the carpet below.
This damage was assessed by the expert furniture re finisher (Solano's Furniture) we have done business with for years and the total cost of repair came to $400.00 Markatos Cleaning Services Inc. Has not paid and shows no indication they intend to even though this matter has been addressed by the BBB. The BBB status is that Markatos has not responded in the alloted time and there is nothing further we can do at this time.
Markatos Cleaning Services Inc. Advertises that if there is a problem they will take care of it promptly. This is not true.
They also state they guarantee 100% customer satisfaction. Nothing could be farther from the truth.
They make a good impression and make many promises that are not kept. False advertising would be an understatement.
In addition to the reported damage above we later noticed several pieces of furniture damaged by the cheap vacuum cleaners they use as they scurry about seemingly concerned only with the next job they need to get to. We found damage on an antique chest in our guest room, the dresser they previously damaged in our master suite, and our china cabinet in the dining room. Each piece of furniture aforementioned was either purchased new or restored by our furniture expert, Solano's Furniture and the damage speaks for itself. The only people in our home using the kind of equipment that can do this kind of damage... Markatos Cleaning Services, Inc.
While cleaning our home they have done extensive damage but we have only asked that they compensate us for the damage we knew about before we dismissed them.
It is frustrating to have to write this complaint. As consumers we expected we would be safe in hiring a company that is licensed, bonded and insured. Such was not the case. Rather than provide the customer care they claim, this company just moves on to the next customer.
I can't help but wonder how many other disgruntled customers they have left behind. Most people would rather not have to deal with the anguish of court dealings or even going so far as to write this complaint... instead we usually just move on and find someone else to do the job in hopes they can be trusted to do it right and show respect for our personal property.
