Flat Rate Plumbing took full advantage of my 82 year old mother this past spring when she called them due to a leaky pipe under her bathroom sink which should be a very simple and relatively inexpensive job. This leaky pipe turned out to be a major repair and remodel job with a price tag of $8000.00!!
Besides doing the job they were originally called to do, they talked her into putting in a new toilet, replacing the main drain that connects both the toilet and bathtub with plastic even though there was nothing wrong with it, installing a new vanity and sink and last but not least, replacing her wall mirror and cabinets with new mirrors and new cabinets which is a cabinet company his buddy owns. Since this was March and no doubt a slow time of year for everyone, he figured he would let his buddy share in the "easy picking" he had found!
Everything they did with the exception of replacing the leaking pipe which they were originally called for, was absolutely unecessary as there was nothing wrong with these other items and no need for replacement.
I looked this company up on the Better Business Bureau of Milwaukee's website and found they had 26 complaints during the preceeding 3 years for similar unethical business practices such as over selling, over priced, taking advantage of people, service bills with the total price they were charging but not itemized so a person has no clue as to how they came up with it, etc.
If anyone has the need for plumbing services, I strongly urge you to stay away from Flat Rate Plumbing as they are definitely a Flat Out Ripoff!!!
