We experienced many of the same problems with this company as the others who have filed a report on this site; Actual costs double the estimate, broken and missing items, etc. They also damaged our floor during the move and refuse to pay the full cost of replacement. We have been battling since March.
Interstate movers such as Nationwide are governed by the rules and regulations of a division of the Department of Transportation known as the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. If yours was an move between states or an "Interstate Move", you can file a complaint directly with them. If yours was a move within a state, they have a listing of the local authority which governs it in your state.
They monitor frequency of complaints against carriers, and are empowered to levy heavy fines against companies that have a history of violations.
I suggest that you visit their website at www.fmcsa. Dot. Gov and let them know what this company has done to you.
